The study of the anti-inflammatory properties of carotenoid liquid extracts on the model of adjuvant-induced inflammation

The search for new anti-inflammatory substances is an important area of pharmacology. Plant carotenoids have many positive biological effects and are interest as potential agents.
 aim. To study the properties extractive from fruits Capsicum annuum L. on model adjuvant-induced inflammation.
 Materials methods. were used plant raw material. Carotenoids obtained by method. inflammation was reproduced in young female rats. dynamics changes volume inflammatory edema total number blood leukocytes studied.
 Results discussion. A decrease nonspecific observed day 15 during therapy with carotenoid extracts (Δ1.01±0.08 treatment group; Δ1.28±0.08 control group). For specific inflammation, reduction when using occurred 30 (Δ0.047±0.015 Δ0.073±0.012 leukocytosis days 20 non-specific respectively. mechanisms action presumably associated antioxidant effect ability to affect production pro-inflammatory cytokines.
